Miffy is celebrating her 65th anniversary in 2020. To celebrate her birthday, Keukenhof has planted a large miffy flower mosaic. Tom Schreuder, commercial manager at Keukenhof, planted the first flowerbulbs of the mosaic together with Mariella Ostendorf, manager special projects at Mercis.
Keukenhof and miffy
“Keukenhof is an international flower exhibition with visitors from all countries. Miffy is also known worldwide and fits well with Keukenhof,” says Schreuder. The bunny has a special place in the park. There is a miffy house and a miffy playground next to the pancake house. This season, a large miffy flower mosaic is added. More than 2,000 hyacinths have been planted in the mosaic. A flowerbed to look forward to in spring.
A paradise for children
In addition to the mosaic, miffy also has its own tulip. And she is not alone in that. The tulips of Pinocchio, Little Red Riding Hood, Sesame Street and Spongebob will also be planted near the mosaic. There is more to do for children at Keukenhof than enjoy the scents and colours of the flowers. The park has a petting zoo, a maze and a playground where children can climb and play. They can go on a scavenger hunt and become real tulip experts. This makes Keukenhof a fun and educational day out for young and old.
Keukenhof will be open in 2021 from March 20 to May 9.
